I can imagine that it would. I tried an E500 Mercedes my Merc mechanic had for a loaner once and my first impression was it drank a lot of gas, had power but this wasn’t for commuting and I can only imagine fuel in Europe!

Probably not. It’s pretty violent if you’re really on it and it certainly isn’t a smooth box, but it isn’t as bad as a lot of people say around town and it is properly hysterical under rapid acceleration. I like it as far as flappy paddles go, but I much prefer my paddles with a fair amount of character.

It’s my uncle’s. Most of the cool things I drive are my uncle’s.

I’m working full time so I can do just that! It will be fixed by this winter (just in time for me to not drive it...) if all goes according to plan, which it won’t. Nothing ever goes according to plan. But I’m working on it, don’t you worry.

Any new developments on yours? I haven’t been on Oppo for a really long time.

I’ve been quite absent too. I don’t know if you saw it, but this happened at the beginning of the summer.

Also, for the past two weeks I’ve been working with my friend and his dad at his metal shop. We’re making a custom roof rack for my car.

This all started with ugly pieces of metal

Working with metal is so much fun and I made something sexy

It’s far from finished, but I bought some cedar that we’ll cut up into planks. Needs to craft the actual clamps to grab the gutters. And then powder coating.

It all started with my buying these Quick-N-Easy roof rack clamps. Thought we would modify them, but we went balls to the walls. We’re not using any pieces from them, so I can sell them.

And that roof rack looks killer! I can’t wait to see the end result. I’ve wanted a cool roof rack on Alice since I bought her. Have you seen Mikey Gaumann’s custom rack? Different style, but still very cool. I think his instagram is @ayyitsmikey. Not sure how many y’s on the “ayy” though. Ahaha

I’ve been reading a thread elsewhere by a guy who bought a Vanquish and spent large sums on repairs and fettling only for it to let him down on a trip to Scotland whereupon he sold it. Anyway he posted a pic of his trip computer showing 9.6mpg. That’s even less in mpUSg.

I really like his rack. It’s great, quality work; but I don’t think it matches the style of the 02. Looks better on e30s. Also, doesn’t look all the useful. But, that’s my opinion. I’m kinda going for a 1930s/40s streamlined design with mine. My inspiration is 1930s airplanes and 1960s Alfas. Don’t ask me how, but that’s what I’m after.

Nice rack! I wish my problem was laziness, that could be fixed. But with kid #2 on the way and all my money going to support the family, it’s purely a lack of time and finances to move forward. And that’s just fine, because I’m a happy dad, but in a few years or sooner I hope to be able to get back to putting in some nights in the garage.

Eh, it’s alright. It kinda looks like heat distortion, so it’s not foolproof. The machine guns in the grill, however, are dynamite.

Ya my cousin had an R35 he modified it a little intake and exhaust work but that’s about it.

It was nuts. It’s been the only exotic I’ve ever been in. I do get a Lamborghini Gallardo Track experience in August but other then that I don’t know when I’ll ever be in another exotic
